Depending on cultural and personal contexts, this action can signify a variety of meanings.
A secret handshake is a distinctive greeting or handshake that symbolizes loyalty to a group, clique, or subculture.
Typically, a secret handshake involves arranging one’s thumbs or fingers in a particular manner that is recognizable to other members while appearing to outsiders as a regular handshake.
In the public’s perception, this is most often associated with secret societies, fraternal organizations, and college fraternities.
Nonetheless, scratching another person’s palm with a finger during a handshake can convey something quite specific.
In certain cultures or social groups, it is seen as a subtly romantic or flirtatious gesture that indicates interest or attraction.
