Brandon Blackstock, Former Husband of Kelly Clarkson, Dies at 48

Brandon Blackstock, 48, a well-known Hollywood talent manager and former husband of Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson, has died following a battle with cancer. His family confirmed on August 7, 2025, that he passed away surrounded by loved ones.

Blackstock was the father of four — River and Remington, his children with Clarkson, and Savannah and Seth from a previous marriage. In recent years, he also embraced being a grandfather. His career included managing top country and pop artists, among them Clarkson and Blake Shelton. He was also the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire, who was married to his father, Narvel Blackstock, until 2015.

Brandon and Kelly Clarkson first met in 2006 at rehearsals for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Years later, they reconnected and married in October 2013. During their marriage, Blackstock also served as Clarkson’s manager, blending their personal and professional lives.
